4 Day Advanced Dental Implantology

Course Description: This is course designed
to introduce the advanced concepts and principles related to
Dental and Oral Implantology. Starting from hard and soft tissue
augmentation to maxillary sinus floor augmentation, as well as
treatment of complicated cases. Controversies and most
up-to-date research directions are among the topics included
Major Course Goals or Objectives: 1.Introduce the dentists to the Advanced Dental Implantology 2.
Enable the dentists to treat difficult cases in which
dental implants could complement or enhance the oral
rehabilitation of the patient 3. Introduce the most recent
surgical techniques and bone grafting as well as GBR
materials related to Dental Implantology to dentists who are
already placing implants.
Course Contents: The course shall be divided
into 4 modules: 1. Lectures. 2. Hands-on sinus lifting.
3. Live demonstrations. 4. Placement of twelve implants under
supervision.
Lectures:
1. Hard tissue grafting: • Types
of bone grafting materials. • Mechanism of action. •
Indications in different peri-implant bony defects. •
Evaluation of the most common commercially available grafting
material. • Platelet rich plasma.
2.
Guided bone regeneration: • Types of GBR barriers
materials. • Mechanism of action. • Indications of GBR
barriers.
3.
Unconventional methods to modify bone quality and volume:
• Maxillary sinus floor augmentation. • Distraction
osteogenesis. • Bone splitting and spreading. • Mandibular
nerve lateralization.

Course Duration: The course is a continuing
professional condensed education program,comprising structured
modules in the study and training in Oral Implantology,
extending over four days.
Course Contents: The course shall be divided
into 3 modules: 1. Lectures 2. Hands-on (simulation)
implant placement and prosthetic training as well as hands-on
sinus lifting 3. Surgical training of the participant (each
participant will place at least 6 implants by himself under
supervision)

Prognosis of dental implants: • Presentation and
discussion of all the factors that affect the dental implant
treatment outcome.

Complications of dental implants: • Review of the most
common as well as rare complications of dental implants and
their management.
6.
Peri-implant soft tissue management: • Periodontal
surgery and its application in Dental Implantology. •
Anterior advanced flaps. • Free and connective tissue grafts.
