Course Description: This course is designed
to introduce the basic as well as the advanced concepts and
principles related to dental and oral implantology. Starting
from historical perspectives, implant biomaterials and
principles of placement to hard and soft tissue reconstruction
and maintenance, treatment of complications, controversies and
the most up-to-date research directions are among the topics
included.
Major Course Goals or Objectives: 1. Introduce the dentists to dental implantology.
2. Enable the dentists to recognize those patients and/or those
clinical situations in which dental implants could complement or
enhance the oral rehabilitation of the patient and 3. Introduce
the most recent techniques and material related to dental
implantology to dentists who already place implants 4. Allow the dentist to place many implants in patients provided
by the training center 5. Support the trained dentist to
start his practice in his country as fast as possible.
Course Contents: The course shall be divided
into 3 modules: 1. Lectures 2. Hands-on (simulation)
implant placement and prosthetic training as well as hands-on
sinus lifting 3. Surgical training of the participant (each
participant will place at least 6 implants by himself under
supervision)

Introduction to
dental implantology: • History of dental implants • Types
of dental implants • Patient selection and diagnosis •
Dental implant surgical kits & tools • Dental implant
prosthetic parts • Overall view about implant insertion
2. Different
approaches for implant insertion after tooth extraction: •
Late implantation • Immediate post-extraction implantation
• Delayed immediate implantation • Dental implantation in
infected sites Detailed description of each method, as well,
as its advantages and indications.

4. Immediate loading
of root-form dental implants: • Immediate loading of single

Course Duration: The course is a continuing
professional condensed education programme, comprising
structured modules in the study and training in oral
implantology, extending over five days.
Course Contents: The course shall be divided
into 3 modules: 1. Lectures 2. Hands-on (simulation)
implant placement and prosthetic training as well as hands-on
sinus lifting 3. Surgical training of the participant (each
participant will place at least 6 implants by himself under
supervision)
Certificates: After having attended the
prescribed course and placement of 6 implants, each participant
will be awarded by a certificate signed from the Royal College
of Surgeons (Edinburgh) 56 CPD.
